ABOUT TALYA SCHMIDT, PH.D., PMH-C
I know that deciding to start therapy is a big step. It is my privilege to partner with you on your journey and bring my training and experience to support your goals for therapy and for your life
My highest priority is to create a compassionate, understanding, and non-judgmental space where you are fully accepted and heard. At the beginning of therapy, we will identify your current challenges and your goals for treatment. Once we establish what you want to get out of therapy, we can begin to work on ways you can maximize your strengths, effectively manage challenges, and gain skills so you can live the life that you want.
Education and Training Background: I am a licensed clinical psychologist and I earned my doctorate at Fairleigh Dickinson University. I am PMH-C certified and specialize in treating clients with perinatal mental health issues and clients experiencing infertility. I also have expertise in treating clients with anxiety, depression and trauma histories and trained extensively in trauma-focused treatment at the Metropolitan Regional Diagnostic and Treatment Center (RDTC) in Newark, NJ.
